a sadder day today. it mightn't be quite as raw as it was a little while ago, but i still miss him *so much*, and today never fails to remind me of the aching magnitude of the way my heart dropped and my head spun when i first read that headline in 2016. the world is not quite as nice a place without him. but, i'm listening to the ecstatic, shimmery beauty of 'sound and vision' right now and i can't help but feel so much love and joy- he and his work has always made me so happy and inspired me so much and it always will, no matter how long he may be gone. he discovered and created and achieved so much in the time he had - especially in the last few years of his life - and his spirit will inspire the same in the rest of us until the end of time. it's okay to be sad today and to miss him, but he never would've wanted us to dwell in grief. today, i'm sure there will be sadness, but i'm going to remember all the incredible, joyous times he has defined and soundtracked, think of all the ways in which he has inspired me, and keep my thoughts with iman, duncan, and lexi, too. it's what he would've wanted! rest well, darling. thinking of you, *always*. i will forever be proud to have spots from ripping off the stars from my face. ❤️🌟❤️ #davidbowie #bowie #ripdavidbowie #bowieforever #music #love

today is a year since 'twin peaks: the return' first aired! i *still* don't have much to say about it, for there was too much of it i loved to properly list - laura still being its centre, diane's incredible strength (and costuming!), the dissociated depth of dale, the importance placed on little moments of humanity, its warmth and sincerity and nonlinear mystery, the ominous whooshing, the rustling of the trees... - and too little that i have even begun to properly comprehend on logical level to write about. but what i do understand is that watching the way it so beautifully mused on love and nostalgia and trauma and what it means to be human last year was one of the most thrilling, beautiful, and emotionally rewarding things i have ever had the pleasure of experiencing, and that i still think of its powerful incredibility all the time. is it future or is it past? 🌲🌙 #twinpeaks #twinpeaksthereturn #davidlynch #markfrost #dianeevans #lauradern #theredroom #surrealism #cultclassic #tv
